Aside from our list of great sailing activities, Blue Marsh Sailing
Association offers a wide range of social activities. And while we are
limited to sailing during the warm months, our social activities are planned
year ’round to keep people connected.
Some of our social events are actually held during meeting nights in lieu of
a program, such as our photo contest/wine & cheese party and our summer
picnics. Some are sailing related, like our annual GPS road rally, trips to
the Atlantic City or Annapolis boat shows, or an evening skipjack cruise.
Some are completely non-sailing related for our landlubbers:
- bike trip
- ski weekend
- afternoon hiking
- bowling night
- the “Bridge Walk” across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge
- games night
- square dance
- dinner theater
- dinner on the town
- Super Bowl party
- Christmas party, complete with a Chinese auction
The culmination of our social calendar is our annual Commodore’s Ball in
November, when awards are given, and our new officers are installed. Complete
with dinner and dancing, it is a wonderful dress-up affair to celebrate the
events of the past year and the beginning of a new season.
